Chef Wendell was born and raised in Barbados and he now makes his home in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He is truly passionate about cooking and sharing the flavours of Barbados with his Canadian friends and family.  

Barbados is the easternmost island in the Caribbean. It is the only coral island in the region and it’s known for its beautiful white sand beaches and friendly people. Bajan cuisine is rich in flavour and colour, with Caribbean, African, and Indian influences.

URBAN COWBOY - WHERE WE COME FROM 

The Belcher Burger, our signature item has a long history in Ottawa with the first Belcher Burgers being sold before Ottawa Rough Rider games as Val Belcher, warmed up on the field. More recently, we brought the burger back to Ottawa with the launch of the Urban Cowboy food truck. We’re extremely proud of the long-standing relationship we’ve built in Ottawa and look forward to building on this tradition.

So now, we’ve upped our seating by opening the Urban Cowboy restaurant. It’s the same Texas-inspired menu, but now just bigger, and if possible, tastier.

Texas-style food is a mix of BBQ and Tex-Mex and the backbone of the operation will continue be the Belcher Burger.  We’re exceedingly excited to become one of the first of the food trucks launched in Ottawa last year to grow into a standalone restaurant and hope to build the same dedicated fan base we built with the food truck. So stop by and bring the family.
